MS Tas thanks Launceston

Posted on Friday, 12 February 2010

On behalf of The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Tasmania and their clients across the state, I would like to thank the Launceston community for their support of last Saturday’s msfest. Now in its fifth year, this event continues to improve each year with 2010 being no exception. Over 12,000 young Tasmanians converged on Launceston this weekend to have fun and to support MS Tasmania in the process.

With MS the most common neurological disease affecting young people, and the highest incidence nationwide in Tasmania, the msfest is our opportunity for young Tasmanians to see that we’re committed to assisting our clients and their families towards a lifestyle that allows them to pursue independence and providing ongoing support in doing so.

The msfest is delivered through a partnership with a local Tasmanian promoter who shares our desire to increase awareness and also to raise the much needed funds to continue our work. With the support of the Launceston community and the many Tasmanian and interstate patrons, last weekend’s event will assist people with MS, their families and friends across the state while also enabling us to continue supporting valuable research. While there’s not yet a cure for MS, with such vibrant and vocal support, together we can make a difference.

Thank you Launceston.
